In 1996, the Houston Parks and Recreation Department established the Houstonians Futbol Club (HFC) to address a clear need: providing a successful, high-level competitive youth soccer program accessible to all Houston-area youth, regardless of economic barriers.

Our Mission & Impact HFC is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity devoted to long-term player development. We offer talented and dedicated young athletes the opportunity to compete in top-tier competitions, including the Eastern District Division One, State Classic, Premier, and National Leagues.

More than just soccer, we develop champions in the heart by instilling:

• Strong work ethic and discipline.

• The importance of education.

• Good sportsmanship and self-respect.

For many of our players, this discipline and exposure is the key to securing a University education, opening doors to lifelong success.

Our Need Our athletes are held to high standards, training multiple times a week and competing almost every weekend in the fall and spring. While our coaches are primarily volunteers, we face significant costs to maintain a competitive environment, including:

• Uniforms and equipment.

• League fees (referees and field maintenance).

• Tournament registration costs.

• Travel and lodging expenses for out-of-town competitions.

These costs create a heavy burden on our young athletes and their families, threatening to exclude them from the highest levels of the sport.
