Paul Garcia, Oscar Cruz, Dennis Lewis, Oscar Ortez, Orlando Cervantes and Abraham Gomez are all attending US Club Soccer’s LaLiga Formation Methodology coaching education course, March 11-13 at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

The course is the first of its kind and the first in a new US Club Soccer/Players First series of LaLiga resources to American coaches. The three-day event will be led by the Spanish professional league’s methodology experts: Gari Fullaondo and Hugo Blanco. Fernando Sanz, LaLiga General Director Middle East & North Africa and International Projects, oversees the US Club Soccer/LaLiga partnership.

·        More information, including a detailed schedule, can be found here.

LaLiga Formation Methodology courses outline the philosophy and methods used across LaLiga to train, develop and form some of the world’s top players. The course this weekend in Texas, for example, includes theory and practical sessions both on and off the field. Topics include: 1) Methodological Foundations of Training, 2) Structure of Training, 3) Development of the Training Model, 4) Training Tactical Concepts, 5) Training Technique, 6) System Development and Strategy and 7) Training Physical Elements.

The course also includes a one-year license for each attendee to Kimet Sport – the software for design, control, evaluation and periodization of training sessions used as for the course and by LaLiga academies, including Real Madrid C.F., FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla FC.
